Gregory Canales, Jr.

Gregorio Manuel Canales, Jr. passed away in Denver, Colorado on October 19, 2011. He was born on January 4, 1951 in San Antonio. Greg was a 1969 graduate of Alamo Heights High School. He married Josephine Ramirez in Austin on August 10, 1974.

He also had a lifelong love for motorcycles, especially his beloved Harley Davidson.  "The boys from Texas are truly convinced and without question..know that Greg is ridin' the heck out of his Harley right now in Harley Heaven which they know is part of Heaven. In Harley Heaven there are no mechanical breakdowns, no running out of gas, no speed limits, no ridin' in the rain; always in the beautiful sunshine."

There was a Memorial Service for Greg at St. Paul’s Community Church, 8001 W. 23rd. Ave., in Lakewood, Colorado. “Gregorio Manuel Canales Jr. was blessed and embraced by family, friends and neighbors on Wednesday, October 19, as he began passage into eternal life." Greg is survived by his wife, Josephine Canales of Denver, Colorado, and three daughters. He is also survived by his sisters Francine Garza Vale, wife of Arnulfo Garza Vale, MD, Amelia Sondgeroth, wife of James Sondgeroth of Austin, Maria M. Helm of Flagstaff, Az., and Cristina M. Canales of San Antonio, and his brother Luis F. Canales and his wife Hillary H. Canales of Houston. His sister,  Maria Magdalema Canales, AHHS Class of 1971, passed away on August 2, 2013, and his Mother, Amelia Aurora Ramirez Canales, died on February 27, 2015.  Greg was preceded in death by his Father, Gregorio M. Canales, M.D..
