Comments:

Married July 1968 - Husband spent 7 years in US Army - we were able to tour some of Europe when stationed in Germany. Worked at Texas General Land Office/Veterans Land Board 1984 through 2007. Was involved with Boy Scouts for 20 years. Currently quilting, ceramics, member San Antonio League of Sidewalk Astronomers. Love hunting, fishing, rockhounding, gardening also. After five years of work, I have earned my Master Observer award through the Astronomical League.

We moved to our ranch a few years ago and are loving living in the country. As we are TOO OLD to begin learning ranching, the property has been leased out to the same family for about 40 years. We reserved 5 acres out of the hundred for our personal use. It is so peaceful and relaxing. If anyone comes to SA and would like to come out to visit or stargaze (the Milky Way is gorgeous out here) just give us a holler. We live right outside of Kyote, about 12 miles from Devine.

Update Jan. 2019:
Mom and Dad both passed away in April 2016.

I have been working in making Quilts Of Honor for Veterans and doing other projects with the Medina County Quilting Guild. In 2019 will be serving on three committees with them. Still a member of the San Antonio League of Sidewalk Astronomers and currently the national coordinator for the Lunar Observing Program through the Astronomical League. Ed has earned his real estate license this past year.

I knew Nina off and on since junior high.  She was always positive and friendly.  She recently contacted me through our class website.  I was so happy to hear from her, and I was looking forward to staying in touch.  Ed's tribute to Nina was so poignant, and it revealed how much Nina was loved.  She lived such a full and happy life.  The way she lived life is truly an inspiration.  I will always think of her joyous spirit when I look at the stars.

I knew she was having some health issues but I never in my mind expected her to leave this earth so soon.

What a good friend she was...we had such great times in high school.  We lost touch for a number of years but we got reaquainted back in the 90's.  She had not changed a bit, her soul was still the same, good and so funny.  I will share this, she and I skipped school a lot.  She taught me how to drive and we would head out to Austin so she could see and be with her then boyfriend before he became her husband, ED.  I would drive at least 90-100 mph to get there and back before parents knew we were gone.   Ahhh Nina....good time!!

I will miss her as I am sure many will.

Love you girl!!

After almost four years living on the ranch, I am FINALLY getting my greenhouse! Saw about 40 deer the other night. Have to keep containers of water outside because the stupid jackrabbits were eating holes into the garden hoses. Ed has joined the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a living history group that gives the true history of the south. If the weather permits, I will be glad to have folks out and we can do some stargazing during the reunion. Might even be able to get some of my astronomy friends to bring their scopes, out, too. This year we are going to the Bahamas, Florida, New Mexico, and the Gallapos Islands. Having a great time spending my kids’ inheritance!!!!

A belated Happy Birthday! Hope it was wonderful.

We spent that day with attorneys and left the next day for New Mexico. It is so dry at the ranch they are starting to sell off the cows. They cannot find enough hay for them. We have had 3/10” in the past six weeks. Less than 4” this year. San Antonio has gotten a lot more than us. Give Patricia a hug for us and let us know I how y’all are doing. How is the house renovation going?

Hope you hada good birthday and that you are in good health. Marie said you were in Colorado recently and Chris Park lives in Evergreen. My best friend moved to evergreen several years ago. Sure is a small world!
